In Support of The Prevention of Violence Against Women Week

Is your relationship healthy? Do you know what a healthy relationship is?  Whether it is with family, friends or intimate partners a healthy relationship allows you to be you and feel safe. In support of The Prevention of Violence Against Women Week ( April 15 -20, 2012), the Inside/Out Violence Prevention Team educates youth on abuse in efforts to empower them to make healthy lifestyle chioces for themselves.  Break the cycle of abuse through education. Healthy Relationships

  1. I thought alchohol and drug use contributes to violence- I was hoping you could elaborate more on how that is a myth. It would be great to see more information on that!

  2. Thank you for your comment. It is a very good question and the thought that drugs and alcohol contributes to violence should be elaborated on. Briefly, drug and alcohol use does not cause violence, but you are right in that it may contribute to violence, because use/abuse does play a role in the facilitation of aggression. It can reduce the ability to exercise self control which can escalate into violence. Keep posted as we will address the Facts and Myths about Abuse, in an upcoming post.
